NRG and its employees have been recognized through many conservation awards, honoring our hard work and dedication to the protection of our natural resources. Recent notable awards are listed below:
The Office of the Governor of the State of Delaware recognized NRG for our successful public-private partnership to install a major emissions control system at our Indian River generating station. This project creates one of the cleanest coal-fueled plants in the U.S., along with many welcome local jobs.
Coastal America Partnership Award – North Deer Island Protection Team (2009)
NRG received the White House Coastal America Partnership Award for the Company's support of the North Deer Island restoration project. The award recognizes outstanding partnerships that make a significant contribution toward the restoration and protection of our Nation's coastal environment. It is the only environmental award of its kind given by the President of the United States.
U. S. Department of the Interior Cooperative Conservation Award—East Bay Protection Working Group Partner (2008)
NRG received the Department of the Interior's highest conservation award, the Cooperative Conservation Award, recognizing conservation achievements resulting from the cooperation and participation of individual landowners; citizen groups; the private sector; nongovernmental organizations; and federal, state, local, and tribal governments.
