Clean Coal
Clean Coal with Carbon Capture and Sequestration
Today, coal is the most abundant and stable source for power generation in the United States and will remain so for at least another generation. More than 50% of the nation's electricity is generated by coal plants.
It is our responsibility to help find ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by coal plants. We continue to look at new technology that limits or eliminates greenhouse gas emissions. However, deploying many of these new technologies depends on policy support and public/private partnership to make them economically viable.
